Smartphone Security Blankets
Security
is a very important matter in our everyday lives, how can we protect
the personal information on our phones? Many apps have come out for
the Iphone and Android phones such as Find My Iphone and Lookout. The
app Find My Iphone is a free app on the Itunes market and allows you
to visit a website to find you lost or stolen phone on a map. You
even have the capability to lock down your phone so no one can find
out your personal information. Lookout has the same capability but is
for the Android phone and can also download and scan your data on
your phone and back it up. All of these apps are great to use not
only keeping your text messaging or photos on your phone private but
any bank or security information you have on your phone. Simple
things such as going to a Panera and using their WiFi can be a risk
to your security because a person with an okay background knowledge
of technology can hack into your phone and look at the information on
your phone. To protect yourself from this happening to you; you can
use a virtual private network. This will allow you to be protected by
making the active thing you are doing on you phone into non-sense,
making the person trying to follow what you are doing impossible.
Technology has advanced so much that we can track our lost devices so
we can keep our privacy. If everything was open and we had no privacy
our world would be corrupt. We need to protect personal information
such as security code for our home, bank account information and
credit cards. Now with smart phones out now, we now just have a
higher risk of people accessing our data. With these apps out for our
phone is a big deal and very helpful. Without technology advancements
we would not have the same amount of privacy we have today. These are
great apps that came out for both Android and Phones and I'm looking
forward to what else the future withholds.
